If they are advanced enough to cross the distance between stars then they are advanced enough to enhance themselves biologically or technologically with nanites to protect themselves from any pathogen even ones never encountered before.
Um, he would be advanced enough to have an immune system strong enough to fight off bacteria and viruses would only transfer if his species was very similar to an Earthling’s. Though I will say the thing that really beat him was the placebo effect and thus the comic rolls along on track, but with the possibility of Alien The Return.
I see where you are coming from and I’ve thought about this, but the main reason for keeping the comments off the main page is to keep the blog section from being pushed below the fold. I appreciate the suggestion though.
True enough, but neither is there any reason to expect that they aren’t susceptible. We might notice that the invading crew forgot to figure that out in advance. Which means we still don’t know who’s probing us and killing the cows.
So couldn’t the Extra Terrestrial introduce biological contamination like the Europeans did the original inhabitants of North America? Small pox blankets?
I…never thought about that.
or if the opposite is true, then throw mouldy bread at him.
And he took them all back up to his space ship with him. Hope they have some kind of quarantine or sanitize system.

That would be if we assumed they take something like that into account at all.
What if they come from a planet where all disease has been wiped from existence ages ago and nobody even remembers how to protect from them anymore?
War of the worlds.
Totally. That’s what killed the Martians.
If any of our flora like the taste of this alien at all.
i figure since death can stop an old god he could probably stop the invasion too
Alien has a nice watch.
Umm… what happened to his ray gun? He isn’t holding it in the last panel before he beams out… maybe Mary gets to play zap?
And what about his bacteria? Won’t they infect us?
Set phasers to stun!!!
Set phasers to OH GOD GET ME OUT OF HERE

Hey Matt, just in case you happen to spot this, I’ve a suggestion to make about the site design.
I don’t know if this would be hard to implement but would be nice if the comments for the latest comic were visible on the front page.
I’m assuming of course that other people besides me use a single page link, often to the main page of each website, when following a comic like this.

Actually, they don’t have any particular reason to be suceptible to our parasites/bacterias, that are tailored for earth organisms.

but the main point is that mary pointed out the flaw in thier plan.
the alien just got parinoid and ran away to be safe
the actual threat is irelavent
(sorry for poor spelling)
